Young Adult level?

Being a longwriter i certainly am not disappointed at the amount it can output (giving it 2000 tokens to output with), but most of it feels very 4th grade or Young Adult reading level.

I wouldn't call this bad, some of my favorite books (Piers Anthony with Xanth) are in that genre. But seems to go from point to point with little in between and skips over events. (Got captured by goblins, XXX happens and then in the night he makes his escape with Mimi a girl he just met), which almost seems better as an overview of a plot/story less as an artistic final output.

Perhaps the lack of eloquence is a side-effect of the Heretic process? The model seems happier with material it would have approved prior to being abliterated. It even self-reports:

I cannot generate responses promoting harmful actions

Maybe. The style and output just felt very Young Adult level. I mean the other parts i tried certainly gave decent responses for suggestions and what little analysis i gave it.

As for self-reports/censoring, i have a suspicion a lot of those only apply to the first few tokens, since if you give it a response to 'continue' from it totally ignores it's own censorship. (works on most models?)

Very unlikely. Models do all sorts of things to forcibly regain control from the user. Example.

True, early on when i started on LLMs i tried doing something similar and some models just outright refuse to work. Others you can coax to work. Though anymore i just go for models marked Abliterated and/or Uncensored, and using Silly Tavern or KoboldCPP i've had few if any issues.

Hmmm not sure if there's any need to keep this open on the feel of the writing style being young adult or not.

Leave it open so others can find your observations easily.
